Lakeside Plaza was on Lockdown Today

Haywood County --Haywood County Sheriff’s Office Announced on Face Book today:

11/14/2019 update 5:35 pm The suspect in this incident was arrested at approximately 5:10 pm. Further details will be released as they become available.

 Detectives are investigating a threat of harm that was made Thursday afternoon which led to a lockdown at the Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency.

Thursday afternoon, the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office received information that an individual called the district attorney’s office and claimed to be in the area of Lakeside Plaza on Paragon Parkway in Haywood County. This individual made a threat of harm in the phone call.

Several law enforcement agencies responded to the plaza, HHSA went into lockdown while law enforcement alerted businesses in the plaza of the threat. Approximately one hour later, the scene was cleared.

Detectives are still investigating the individual who made the threat at this time. HCSO will send updates as they become available. ————-

Haywood county law enforcement officers are investigating a threat that was made in the area of the Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency.

The entrances to Lakeside Plaza on Paragon Parkway are currently blocked due to heavy law enforcement activity. Avoid this area until further notice.
