Traffic Stop Leads to Trafficking Charges in Rutherford County
Rutherford County -- While actively monitoring the Earnhardt Drive area in Mooresboro, North Carolina, on Wednesday, the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (A.C.E.) Team noticed a blue Jeep Renegade driving left of center, which is against North Carolina traffic law.
The car's license plate showed that Enterprise Rental Company was the registered owner. The car was the subject of a traffic stop because of the observed infraction.
Investigators recognized the driver as Raven Moore, who lives on Nolan Road in Mooresboro. Moore was already well known to investigators, who had previously received multiple reports about her alleged involvement in drug-related activities.
During the stop, Moore refused to give permission for the car to be searched. Consequently, a K9 Ranger was sent out to sniff the vehicle's exterior for free. The presence of drugs was indicated by a K9 Ranger alarm.
Based on the K9 alert, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, investigators located the following:
48.79 grams of powder Fentanyl
9.94 grams of Fentanyl pills
12 grams of Methamphetamine
5 Fentanyl patches
Multiple items of drug paraphernalia
$4,474.00 in U.S. currency, suspected drug proceeds
Raven Moore was placed under arrest and transported to the Rutherford County Detention Center, where she was processed and held under a $1,000,000 secured bond.
All evidence was seized and processed in accordance with Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures.
This case remains under investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.
