Check Point Leads to Drug Charges for Marion Man

McDowell County --  Adam Lee Franklin, 41, of Marion, was charged by the McDowell County Sheriff's Office Community Impact Team with the following:

 A secured bond of $15,000 was issued to him.

Detectives were helping the North Carolina State Highway Patrol when Franklin was pulled over and discovered to be operating a vehicle without a license.
 

A positive alert was obtained after detectives used MCSO K9 Hiko to sniff the car in the open. Drug paraphernalia and a suspected 14 grams of methamphetamine were discovered during a follow-up search of the car.
