
Asheville Police Arrest 3, Recover Stolen Guns & Drugs
During a targeted operation Friday night in West Asheville, officers and detectives from the Asheville Police Department arrested three people
and confiscated illegal drugs, a stolen weapon, and a stolen dirt bike.
Recent neighborhood concerns and intelligence regarding robberies, assaults, illicit firearms, and drug activity prompted the start of this concerted endeavor. APD officers, detectives, supervisors, professional staff, and U.S. Marshals Service personnel worked together on the operation.
As a result of the operation, Jahad Marquise Craig (10/01/2001, Damion Keire Smith Jr. (02/27/2003), and Damon Tyriq Smith Jr. (08/15/2003) were arrested and 199.27 grams of Fentanyl, $943.7, and 7 guns (1 stolen), along with the recovery of a stolen dirt bike.

Craig was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) by a magistrate.

Smith was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $10,000 (or $1,000 to a bondsman) secured bond issued by a magistrate and was released after posting bond.
Damon Tyriq Smith Jr. (08/15/2003)
Warrant: Driving While License Revoked
Smith was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a Written Promise to Appear by a magistrate and released.
This investigation is ongoing and will likely result in additional firearm and drug-related charges.
