
Marion Man Faces Mulitple Charges
McDowell County: Marcus Leonard Pendley, 35, of Marion, was arrested by the McDowell County Sheriff's Office Community Impact Team.
Pendley was refused bond since he was already on pretrial release.
Officers tried to pull over a GMC Sonoma in the Old Fort neighborhood on Saturday, April 19. The driver, Pendley, had arrest warrants pending.
Detectives and a trooper from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol pursued a car down Bat Cave Road in the direction of the Crooked Creek neighborhood. Pendley was taken into custody and arrested. Suspected quantities of both powdered and pilled fentanyl were found during a vehicle check.
The state's "Run and You're Done" policy led to the truck's seizure.
Pendley was charged with the following:
• Felony Flee to Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle
• Felony Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance
• Felony Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling or Place for Controlled Substance
• Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance
• Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer
• Misdemeanor Littering (Not >10 lbs)
