McDowell County -- The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 62-year-old Edwin Lowell Thomas of Marion. Thomas faces the following charges:  (2 counts) felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, felony Possession of Methamphetamine and misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana (up to ½ ounce).

He was issued a $25,000 secured bond for those offenses.

On Friday, April 11, Deputy Watson initiated a stop on a Chevrolet Tahoe at the intersection of Jacktown and Fairview roads for a traffic violation.
A subsequent search of the vehicle and Thomas turned up suspected amounts of methamphetamine (7 grams), fentanyl (1.10 grams), marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
