
Man Shoplifting Arrested Armed with Machete
Asheville -- A man was taken into custody by Asheville Police on Monday night in relation to an armed robbery that occurred at a grocery store in west Asheville.
Around 5:25 p.m. on March 31st, police arrived at a grocery store in the 600 block of Haywood Road to look into an armed robbery. When cops arrived, a store employee said that a man had taken incense and a cinnamon bun, brandished a machete when he was confronted, and then fled on foot.
While canvassing the area, officers quickly located the suspect, who matched the description and was eating a cinnamon bun.
Jeffrey Dewayne Bradburn (12/27/1991) was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following:
-Robbery With Dangerous Weapon
-Shoplifting Concealment Goods
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Bradburn was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $50,000 (or $5,000 to a bondsman) secured bond issued by a magistrate.
