Buncombe County Shelters Open as Temperatures Drop to Freezing
As freezing temperatures approach the area during our recovery, we want to remind you of local resources to help you
keep warm:
SHELTERS: We have space at all shelters listed below:
- AB Tech Conference Center, 16 Fernihurst Dr, Asheville (Please use Victoria Road entrance)
- Medical Emergency Shelter (for individuals who are dependent on medical equipment requiring power), 10 Genevieve Cir, Asheville
- Former Gold’s Gym (Novant Health) (recommended for families with children; please note that pets are not allowed at this location)
1815 Hendersonville Rd, Asheville
- WNC Agricultural Center (recommended for families with pets)
765 Boylston Hwy, Fletcher
Eblen Charities is providing warm winter clothing and other essential items such as hygiene and cleaning supplies, menstrual products, diapers, etc. Eblen is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at 23 Hamilton St. in Asheville. Currently, donations are not being accepted by Eblen.
Goodwill Donation Centers are providing vouchers for clothing for those in need.
