Flash Flood Warning Lake Lure

Lake Lure -- Rutherford County Government: September 26, 2024: Flash Flood Warning: LAKE LURE FLOODGATES

OPERATING ABOVE 12 FEET:

The NWS has issued a “considerable damage” Flash Flood Warning for areas south of the dam at Lake Lure. From the NWS: 

“The resultant floodwave will impact several areas downstream, including: River Creek Campground, homes in the Green Hill community, areas in the Cleghorn and Union communities, and Cox Rd. Residents are urged to heed evacuation guidance from Rutherford County Emergency Management and seek higher ground now.”
