Asheville -- August 1, 2024: Asheville Police Department Press Release: Asheville Police Officers continue their

investigation into a recent hit-and-run that sent a pedestrian to the hospital and are asking the public for help identifying the vehicle and driver.


APD officers responded to a report of a pedestrian on a skateboard struck by a vehicle near the 100 block of Clingman Avenue around 11:08 p.m. on July 17th. Upon arrival, officers found the victim conscious, with two bystanders performing medical assistance until the arrival of EMS. The pedestrian was transported to Mission Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Through their investigation, officers believe the vehicle involved is a black sedan or hatchback with clear tape along the passenger side door with significant damage to the windshield and possibly the driverโ€™s side door.
