Lumberton Police Lose One of Their Own
LUMBERTON -- Police Officer Jason Quick, 31, died Saturday morning while investigating a traffic accident.

On Saturday morning December 15, 2018 at around 6:10 am Officer Jason Quick of the Lumberton Police Department was dispatched to a traffic crash on I-95 Northbound lane near exit 22 but South of the exit. While investigating the traffic crash Officer Jason Quick was struck by an automobile around 6:53 am this morning. Other Lumberton Police Officers on the scene along with fire personnel from the Lumberton Fire Department began immediately rendering aid to Officer Quick. Officer Quick was transported to Southeastern Regional Medical Center where he died from injuries he sustained.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol was contacted as well as the Investigator for the Robeson County District Attorney’s office to investigate the crash scene. All questions concerning the crash should be referred to the NCSHP.
