Investigation Leads to Marion Couple Charged with Child Abuse

McDowell County -- March 23, 2023: McDowell County Sheriff’s Office reported the following today:

A Marion Couple was charged in a child abuse case.

Charged:

18-year-old Carolyn Faith Norville with felonious Intentional Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. Norville was issued a $500,000 secured bond.

Charged:

20-year-old Bradley Steven Roper with felonious Neglecting Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Physical Injury. Roper was issued a $500,000 secured bond.

On January 8th, detectives took a report of the possible child abuse of an infant. A lengthy investigation led to the arrest of the parents of the infant on March 19th.
