Asheville -- December 21, 2023: The Asheville Police Department is now investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday evening, resulting in a single male individual sustaining injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Officers from the Asheville Police Department promptly arrived at Myrtle Street at around 9:14 p.m. on December 20th in response to a complaint of a gunshot injury inflicted against a male individual. Police discovered an individual experiencing gunshot injuries in both arms. The responding officers promptly administered a tourniquet to the victim until the arrival of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). 

The sufferer was conveyed to Mission Hospital for medical care and subsequently discharged. The individuals present at the apartment informed the police that during a small party, they heard gunshots and then discovered that bullets were entering the premises. Two of these bullets hit one of the individuals present. During the process of surveying the property, law enforcement investigators discovered a total of 55 discharged gunshot casings and evidence of bullet impact, as well as four automobiles situated near the residence.
