Asheville -- June 30, 2023: According to the Asheville Police Department, for the second time in the same location this year, officers apprehend a River Arts District burglar.

At 2:17 a.m. on June 29, APD officers were dispatched to a vandalism incident involving a suspect who was still on the scene in the 35 block of Paynes Way.

The responding officers discovered the suspect who fit the description hiding in a nearby bush after they arrived. Discovered were broken glass, a 2x4, and an empty cash register during the search of the first business.

Officers continued to search the neighborhood and discovered a second business with broken glass.

Asheville police believed that Henson, who had been arrested for similar acts earlier this year, was quickly identified.
In the middle of January, three West Asheville businesses -- Garden Party, Hole Doughnuts, and Story Parlor -- were broken into. Henson was charged with these break-ins. According to the authorities at the time, he was also allegedly involved in numerous other break-ins that took place in late December 2022.

William Jeter Henson III was arrested and charged with the following:
-Felony Breaking and Entering x2
-Larceny After Breaking and Entering

Henson is currently being held in the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a  bond to $16,000 secured bond
