Asheville Fire Dept Pull Body from French Broad River

Asheville -- May 4, 2023: A body was found in the French Broad River Wednesday afternoon. 

The body was retrieved by the Asheville Fire Department.

The fire department were responding to a call that came in just  before one o'clock,kayakers reported seeing what they believed to be a body floating down the French Broad River close to Riverside Drive. 
To identify the deceased and launch a more thorough investigation, detectives and forensic specialists are collaborating with the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
