NEWS -- NY: January 24, 2022 -- The trial between US Former Governor Sarah Palin and the New York Times

is set to begin today, but the judge has announced that she tested positive for coronavirus.

Preliminary reports indicate that Palin contracted the virus while on a family vacation in Hawai'i last year. Now, she has
tested positive again.

Palin, a Republican, was the vice presidential candidate in the 2008 U.S. presidential election, and a vocal opponent of vaccination for COVID-19. However, after testing positive for coronavirus in March, Palin urged people said she had natural immunity and would not need vaccines.

U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff, who is presiding over the case, made the announcement Monday morning.  He said she was being tested again to determine whether the trial is delayed.

"She is of course unvaccinated," said Rakoff.
