Asheville -- While performing crime prevention measures near downtown Asheville on Sunday evening, officers from the Asheville Police Department detained a man who was in possession of drugs and had many outstanding warrants.

Around 6:34 p.m. on May 4, officers tried to contact Quevadus Asatea Bailey (11/18/2004), who was wanted on several outstanding warrants, on Montford Avenue.  Bailey tried to elude the police on foot but was apprehended right away.  Bailey was discovered to be in possession of drugs at the time of the arrest.

-4.81g of crack cocaine

-0.98g of fentanyl

-Charged: Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance within 1,000ft of a School x2

-Charged: Resist, Delay, Obstruct 

-Charged: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

-Warrant: Breaking and Entering with Intent to Terrorize

-Warrant: Going Armed to the Terror of The People

-Warrant: Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence

-Warrant: Injury to Real Property

-Warrant: Injury to Personal Property

Bailey was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $75,000 (or $7,500 to a bondsman) secured bond issued by a magistrate.
