
Man with Drug Possession After Domestic Disturbance
McDowell County -- The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jimmy Steven Lawing, 33, of Marion, with multiple offenses, including Felony Possession of a Synthetic Cannabinoid, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Domestic Criminal Trespass. He received no bond.
On Saturday, March 1, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a Marion residence, involving Lawing. Upon arrival, deputies learned that he had left the home and entered a wooded area after allegedly harassing and threatening occupants inside.
Once located, Lawing complied with deputies' commands and exited the woods. A search of his person turned up a suspected amount of methamphetamine. Additionally, MCSO K-9 Rambo assisted in the incident and located an AR-15 rifle in the wooded area. It was also confirmed that Lawing had an outstanding warrant for his arrest prior to this incident.
He was placed under arrest and taken to the McDowell County Detention Center.
