Asheville --  Press Release: Asheville Police Asheville Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Wednesday afternoon in downtown

Asheville. While on patrol, officers observed a man


with a knife protruding from his head in the 100 block of Patton Avenue around 2:31 p.m. on March 12th. The suspect had already fled the scene. Officers quickly provided emergency medical care until the arrival of EMS. The victim was transported to Mission Hospital for treatment; at this time he is still alive but in critical condition.  


The investigation is active and ongoing. Detectives were able to recover important evidence but need your help. If you have any information, you are urged to contact APD at (828) 252-1110.
