Asheville --ย ย Press Releaseย Asheville Police Department: Asheville Police officers arrested a man for Driving While Impaired following multiple
hit-and-runs in downtown and west Asheville
Monday afternoon. Thankfully, nobody was injured; only property damage has been reported.
Officers responded to numerous reports of hit-and-runs involving a silver Toyota Tacoma in downtown Asheville early afternoon on March 10th. The suspect was then reported to be crashing into vehicles in West Asheville. Shortly thereafter, officers located the Tacoma with front-end damage in a driveway on Dellwood Street around 2:06 p.m. and made contact with Josiah Christian Evan Ligiecki (12/24/1998), who was taken into custody.

-Hit And Run Leaving The Scene Property Damage x3
-Injury to Personal Property x3
-Resisting Public Officer
Ligiecki was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $20,000 (or $2,000 to a bondsman) secured bond issued by a magistrate.
Starting March 10, the Asheville Police Department and other state agencies are participating in the Governorโs Highway Safety Program St. Patrickโs Day โBooze It & Lose Itโ campaign through March 17. This campaign is designed to keep impaired drivers off the road and ensure safer travel during the holiday period. Plan ahead by arranging a sober ride home through a sober friend or family member, a rideshare service, taxi, or public transportation.
