Buncombe County -- December 9, 2024: Buncombe County Schools: Occupational Course of Study (OCS) students turned

the Buncombe County Schools (BCS) Central Services building into a bustling marketplace Friday.

High school students from Enka High School, Clyde A. Erwin High, North Buncombe High School, Charles D. Owen High School, T.C. Roberson High School, and A.C. Reynolds High School set up tables to showcase and sell their creations.

Handmade ornaments glistened under the lights, colorful signs and artwork caught curious eyes, and candles with cozy scents invited shoppers closer. The air was filled with the sweet aroma of baked treats, which made it hard to resist a bite.

BCS staff browsed tables to find unique gifts that couldn’t be found anywhere else. Each purchase felt personal, a small piece of the students’ hard work. By the end of the day, laughter and gratitude filled the room. The students had done more than just sell crafts; they had shared their creativity, their skills, and a little bit of holiday cheer with everyone who walked through the doors. Proceeds raised went to the OCS department at each school.
