Haywood County Board of Commissioners June Meeting

Haywood County -- Haywood County Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting May 31, 2024: 

1. Administrative/Agency Reports/Presentations 
-The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) shared an update on their ongoing and upcoming Haywood County highway-related projects. 
3. Consent Agenda (passed) 
-Approval of May 20th, 2024, meeting minutes.  
 
-Approval for updates to the Longevity Pay Policy, effective July 1, 2024. The proposed changes are focused solely on the timing of the payments, with no budgetary impacts.  
 
-Approval for a budget amendment of $338,220 to accept and appropriate additional tax revenue anticipated to be collected through the end of the fiscal year. This revenue will be allocated to the relevant Service Districts. 
 
-Approval for a budget amendment of $120,000 to accept and appropriate a grant award from the NC Office of State Budget and Management. The funds will be used for the river gauge project. 
 
-Approval for a budget amendment of $271,117 for LATCF funds. This includes approval for a budget transfer from the general fund to Capital Project Fund 45. These LATCF funds were previously approved for use in the construction of the Russ Avenue EMS Base. 
 
-Approval for a budget amendment of $512,000 to accept and appropriate additional occupancy tax revenue anticipated to be collected through the end of the fiscal year. 
 
-Approval for a budget amendment of $65,590 to transfer the remaining balance in the HCC Capital Project Fund to close out the completed project. The transferred funds may be used for capital outlay or debt service.

-Approval for the appointment of Dinah Smith to serve a three-year term as an Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction representative on the Clyde Board of Zoning Adjustments. (passed)
