$5 M in Grants Helene Recovery to Small Businesses by U.S. Chamber of Commerce

November 14, 2024: In order to assist small companies affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the U.S. Chamber of
Commerce Foundation has partnered with American Express

to develop the Small Business Hurricane Recovery award program. 

Through the distribution of $5,000 awards to 1,000 qualified small companies throughout the Southeast, the program will allocate $5 million in financing to aid in their recovery and increase their ability to withstand future disasters. 

Program Eligibility 
The program will provide a $5,000 grant to 1,000 selected businesses that meet eligibility requirements, including but not limited to the following criteria: 

Located in SBA disaster-declared counties  

Financially harmed and cannot cover costs  

Have between 1-25 employees
