September 29, 2021 Dollar Tree Press Release
"Based on positive customer reaction and the success of its new Combo and Dollar Tree Plus store formats, the Company plans to begin adding new price points above $1 across all Dollar Tree Plus stores and will begin testing additional price points above $1 in selected legacy Dollar Tree stores."
So much for:
Price Check?
Everything's a Dollar!
So, I noticed Dollar Tree was trending on social media and of course, I had to find out why. I've been in the store many times and employees would joke "need a price check" another employee would shout out "everything's a dollar" .... something that may be a thing of the past...
Now, I've seen posts blaming inflation....I feel my shoulders shurg in a maybe kind of way. Cost could be going up, but I don't know...
Then I think, maybe they just wanted better quality products that cost a little more?
Could be ....
There are some cool items offered in the store now. Oh, and they have tried out "Combo" stores, with prices higher on some products. Again, I ask, better quality?
There will still be many items in the store offered for a dollar. Obviously there tests stores are showing success ....
So just maybe offering better quality at reasonable prices will help them keep the dollar items that made them a success in the first place?
Fine by me, I will miss the joke of a price check response "Everything's a Dollar"
But hey, if it keeps prices low and higher quality stuff, I'm good with it!
