Man Stabbed Mulitple Times Dies in Asheville

Asheville -- September 27, 2023: Detectives from the Asheville Police Department are looking into a stabbing that happened in the early hours leaving one man dead.

This morning at 4:12 a.m., APD Patrol Officers were called to the 290 block of Smokey Park Highway in response to reports of a stabbing. They discovered a man who had been stabbed multiple times on the railroad tracks. Before Buncombe County EMS could arrive, the man passed away from his injuries. The next of kin has not been notified.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Technicians worked all morning, following up on several leads while conducting current investigations.

This is the 5th homicide this year in the City of Asheville.
