The Largest Herb Festival in the United Statesand Canada! Promoting WNC Herbs and Herb Products Since 1990!

The WNC Ag Center's annual spring herb festival features heirloom veggies, herbs, goods, soil additions, and organic knowledge.

For two days of herb celebration, top local herb growers, manufacturers of herbal products, herbalists, and experts in herbiculture, including growing herbs for culinary and medicinal uses, join together.

Prepare to polish that herb garden! Permaculture, fruit plants, and all things herbal. If you want to avoid crowds, come later in the day. Again, no cost seminars in 2023. food trucks! herbal goods manufactured by hand, as well as garden decorations and soil enhancements!

"If it's Herbs, it's Here"

Drought-tolerant planting

In part because of changes in international climate patterns, the availability of sufficient water is often irregular in western North Carolina: rainfall can be abundant one year and almost nonexistent another. Some years have early, heavy rainfall, others are dry until mid-summer. But many popular herbs, having developed around the Mediterranean, are drought-tolerant, and experienced gardeners know that xeriscaping with drought-tolerant herbs and using captured rainwater is always a wise budgetary move as well as ecologically important.
