Tiny Tykes Day
Get ready for a day of big fun for little ones! Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) is thrilled to announce the annual Tiny Tykes Day, a free festival designed for children ages 5 and under, is scheduled for Sunday, May 4, from 2-5 pm at Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center on 285 Livingston Street in the Southside neighborhood. The move to Grant Southside Center offers an exciting new venue for the long-running event with extensive outdoor space and indoor facilities, ensuring a rain-or-shine experience for all families. “We’re excited to bring Tiny Tykes Day to this new location, providing a space where our youngest community members can explore, play, and create memories, regardless of the weather,” said D. Tyrell McGirt, APR Director. “This event, along with our year-round toddler discovery programs, reflects our commitment to fostering healthy development and sparking imagination in Asheville’s children – because when everyone has the opportunity to be supported and healthy, the entire community thrives!” What to Expect young girl wearing blue vest with face painted like a tigerTiny Tykes Day promises a vibrant and exciting afternoon filled with activities tailored for young explorers, including: Inflatables: Bounce and tumble in exciting inflatable structures Train Rides: Embark on delightful mini train adventures Face Painting: Transform into imaginative characters with creative face art Crafts: Engage in hands-on craft making activities Biking: Practice motor skills with fun biking opportunities More! Grant Southside Center’s spacious layout allows for a diverse range of activities, ensuring there’s something for every little adventurer. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to relax and enjoy the festivities. No registration is required for Tiny Tykes Day and admission is free.
