Another Star Falls, Penny Marshall Died Monday at age 75


Penny Marshall dies at age 75, complications from diabetes Monday night. 

 

Rob Reiner was married to Marshall for 10 years, 1971 to 1981, tweeted. "I loved Penny. I grew up with her. She was born with a great gift. She was born with a funnybone and the instinct of how to use it. I was very lucky to have lived with her and her funnybone. I will miss her."

Laverne & Shirley star died "peacefully" on Monday night, Dec. 17, due to complications from diabetes. "Our family is heartbroken over the passing of Penny Marshall," a spokesperson for the actress and director's family told E! News in a statement.

Cindy Williams, co-star of Lavern & Shirley 1976-1983 issued a statement about her friend's passing, "What an extraordinary loss. My good friend, Penny Marshall is gone — one in a million," she told TODAY in the statement, which is one of many from Marshall's peers and friends. "Utterly unique, a truly great talent. And, oh what fun we had! Can't describe how I'll miss her."

“A League of Their Own” and “Big,” has died, her publicist confirmed to the New York Daily News. She was 75.

“Yes she did (die) … peacefully at her Hollywood Hills home,” publicist Michelle Bega said. “She passed away from complications from diabetes.”

Hadn’t seen it in years.

Penny told me the story of Jim Braddock, which became the movie Cinderella Man. She was kind, she was crazy,so talented and she loved movies. RIP
