Henderson County Sheriff's Office SRO's are in a friendly competition to collect donations for Special Olympics Henderson County.

Donate in general or donate to help your team win.  As always, Rugby Middle and Flat Rock Middle softball will compete to see who can raise the most money.  In your comment section, pick a team.  Winning-teams head coach and I will take the plunge. 

By supporting this campaign, you are helping fund nearly 40,000 athletes across North Carolina to train and compete in 20 different Olympic-type sports. More importantly, you are giving them opportunities to demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

    We have had multiple reports of an individual calling and claiming to be from the Haywood County Sheriff's Office (specifically Chief Trantham or Lt. Greathouse). They are trying to convince our citizens to pay them money or go to jail because they have missed jury duty. Additionally, they are calling from a number that rings back to our dispatch or from a private number. THIS IS A SCAM. No one from our office will ever call and request money for any reason. You may also reach out to law enforcement if you feel you have been a victim of this scam. You can reach the Haywood County Sheriff's Office Non-Emergency line at 828-452-6666.
