Whitewater Rafting on the Tuckasegee River

Welcome to Dillsboro River Company, providing family-friendly whitewater rafting on the Tuckasegee River, just outside of Dillsboro, Sylva, and Bryson City, North Carolina. The Tuckasegee is the ideal river for first-time rafters, families with young children (minimum age limit is 4), and those who want more of a relaxing river trip with warmer water and the milder Class I & II rapids. ​

Great way to spend the day!
Our group of 9 had a wonderful time tubing the Tuck yesterday. We had teens and adults with varying levels of adventure experience, and everyone had fun. It was a high water day, so we were on the "high adventure" tubing, self guided trip. We noticed that most others were in canoes or rafts, but we enjoyed the laziness of tubing. Our family linked our tubes together so we were a "floating island" and enjoyed splashing and talking. I would suggest going down the rapids in single file. We tried to go down the rapids as an island, but a few of us got toppled over. This wouldn't have happened going down single file. If you have littles, a boat would probably suit your family better, or go down on a low water day. We would do this river trip again in a heartbeat, however!

Awesome
The rafting was awesome. Clay did an incredible job as well as the team at riverside. Would highly recommend for a family trip. Be sure to keep an eye out for the bald eagle.

Our goal: To provide first time river enthusiasts with a positive rafting experience, with the hope to create a lifelong love for rivers and their recreation.

Smoky Mountain River Adventures was established in 2011. Owner/operator Tee Davis has over 20 years experience in white water kayaking, white water kayak and rafting instruction, river safety, and knowledge of rafts and duckies. We are a small company focused on groups, families and first timers with four different kinds of rafting trips on the Tuckaseegee River in Western North Carolina. We run trips on only one river at this time – the Tuckaseegee – and yep, we know every rapid and rock in the section of river that we run!

SEASON OPEN HOURS
MAY: Smoky Mountain River Adventures is open for weekends only during the month of May.
JUNE-SEPTEMBER: From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we operate seven days week. Preferred arrival time for best rafting conditions are between 10:30am-2:00pm, but we do stay open later.

To get your trip started as soon as possible, it is helpful to be acquainted with our routine.

Fun Afternoon!
We had 5 adults and a 5 year old and 10 year old on a float down the Tuck guided by Emily. We had a lot of fun, our guide knew her stuff and was very funny. Jumping off the rock was awesome.
Would do it again!
