Parks and Recreation Asheville Update
Asheville: City of Asheville Parks adn Recreation: Notice: Parks Department Operations Update on June 5, 2020.
Parks & Greenways:
All City of Asheville parks are open, including dog parks, outdoor courts, fields, boat accesses, and the Azalea fishing pond. Playgrounds and all buildings located in parks, including restrooms remain closed. All picnic shelter reservations are cancelled through 6/30/20.
Group gatherings are limited to 25 people outdoors and everyone should be sure to follow guidelines regarding physical distancing.
Programs:
All Asheville Parks & Recreation programs are cancelled through 7/3/20, including summer camps. Instead, we’re introducing Rec n Roll, our new mobile recreation program! We’ll be taking our programs on the road throughout our community!
Community and Recreation Centers:
Community centers and recreation centers remain closed until further notice.
WNC Nature Center:
The WNC Nature Center remains closed until further notice.
Aston Park Tennis Center:
A limited number of courts are open at Aston Park Tennis Center between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The clubhouse, including restrooms and the pro shop, will remain closed and staff will not be onsite.
Asheville Municipal Golf Course:
The Asheville Municipal Golf Course is open with additional measures in place to comply with State and County physical distancing requirements.
Riverside Cemetery:
Riverside Cemetery is open, with funeral services and visitations limited to 50 people.
