Accessibility Upgrades Now Complete in City-Owned Parking Garages
Asheville -- January 16, 2025: City of Asheville Press Release: City-owned parking garages are now more accessible.
This recently completed work is the second of four phases
of the Parking Garage Capital Improvements Project and creates accessible parking spaces and paths of travel that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to the greatest extent feasible in Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville (HCCA), Rankin Avenue and Wall Street garages. The $11 million, multi-year repair and improvement project started with immediate priority repairs, which were completed in 2024 and included improvements to stairwells, elevator landings and decks.
