    Hendersonville -- December 5. 2024: Press Release: Henderson County  Henderson County is happy to announce

    fare-free rides and extended hours for our local bus system:

    Apple Country Public Transit! Free rides on any of our three routes, including paratransit, began on December 3, 2024, and will be offered through June 30, 2025. The current schedule of 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM will be extended one hour to 7:30 PM at the beginning of 2025 and will run through the end of the fiscal year. More details on the service extension will be released soon. This is an invitation to all Henderson County residents, especially those who lost their primary transportation method due to Hurricane Helene.

    Please visit www.applecountrytransit.com to access maps and schedules. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to get free rides from as far as the Asheville Regional Airport to East Flat Rock, Laurel Park, the Blue Ridge Mall, and many other popular destinations.
