Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident Asheville
Asheville -- November 26, 2024: Press Release: Asheville Police Department Patrol Officers are continuing to
investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred Monday morning in west Asheville.
APD Patrol Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision with injuries in the 700 block of Smokey Park Highway around 6:15 a.m. on November 25th. The preliminary investigation indicates a 2020 Ford Explorer driven by April Hannah Shelton (03/01/1978) was traveling east when it struck the rear of a dump truck driven by Timothy Loy Taylor (02/04/1961).
Shelton was transported to Mission Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries; next of kin has been notified. Taylor was transported to Mission Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
