needs help with a mental health, substance use or intellectual/developmental disability challenge, please use these free numbers/resources below:

Crisis Response for Emergent or Urgent Needs***** 

Disasters are a time when our mental health requires additional care. These resources are available for Helene and/or other crisis response. The following resources are available to anyone who needs mental health/substance use support:

• Call 911 In case of a life-threatening emergency.
• Call Vaya Health Behavioral Health Crisis Line at 1-800-849-6127. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, free and confidential. TTY: Contact Relay NC at 711.
• Call or text 988 for mental health support from a trained mental health professional. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—free and confidential.
• Call NC’s Peer Warmline at 1-855-733-7762 to speak to a peer living in recovery from mental health or substance use issues. Available 24 hours, a day 7 days a week—free and confidential.

Vaya Health Member and Recipient Service Line: 1-800-962-9003- Monday-Saturday, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
Walk-in Centers help people experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis in the same way urgent care clinics help people with immediate physical health needs. You can visit a walk-in center without an appointment.
