Multiple Arrests in Transylvania "Buy-Bust" Operation

Transylvania County -- September 10, 2024:  Transylvania Sheriff's Office: On Monday, detectives with the Transylvania County

Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit conducted a buy-bust operation on Unity Drive in the Pine Crest Housing Units to combat the sale of illegal narcotics. 

While detectives were conducting surveillance, a hand-to-hand methamphetamine transaction occurred in which an unknown male drove up and delivered methamphetamine to the target of the original operation. A search warrant was then executed at 400 Unity Drive Apartment 206. During this operation three people were taken into custody, Peaches Gaynelle Holland, Logan Laru Crawford, and Dennis Austin Whitmire. 

Holland was charged with Felony Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Maintain Place for Controlled Substance, and Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance within 1000 ft of a school. 

Crawford was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Whitmire was charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine within 1000 ft of School.
At the conclusion of that operation, narcotics detectives were able to identify the male who delivered the methamphetamine as Quamaine Deshay Landrum.

Detectives were able to identify that Mr. Landrum resided at 96 Magnolia Street so they applied for and received a search warrant for 96 Magnolia Street. Detectives and patrol officers then executed the search warrant at 96 Magnolia Street Brevard, NC 28712 at 8 pm on 09/09/2024.

 Detectives located approximately 48 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 1.25 ounces of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia. During the service of this search warrant, detectives took Morgan Marie Jones into custody. Jones was charged with the following offenses:

Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Controlled Substance with in 1000ft of School, Maintain Place for Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Warrants were also issued for Quamaine Deshay Landrum for Traffic Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Controlled Substance within 1000ft of School, Maintain Place for Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

At approximately 11:30 pm on 09/09/2024 Transylvania County patrol deputies located Mr. Landrum on Rosman Highway near Caldwell Street. Deputies performed a traffic stop and Mr. Landrum was taken into custody on the above-mentioned charges. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
