Marion Woman Charged with Fentanyl Possession

McDowell County -- August 15, 2024: McDowell County Sherrif's Office:  McDowell County Sheriff's Deputies charged 

Amanda Boone of Marion with Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance. Boone received a $30,000 secured bond.

On April 28th, Deputies were conducting a driver’s license checkpoint on Fairview Road. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license. Boone was a passenger in the vehicle, and a search of her purse turned up a powder substance that she said was powdered sugar. Deputy Eudy submitted the substance to the NC State Crime Lab for analysis and it was identified as Fentanyl.
