APD Arrest Man for Cyberstalking, Anti Semitic Threats Targeting Local Synagogue
Asheville -- October 16, 2023: In relation to a string of threatening and anti-Semitic emails sent to a local synagogue, Asheville Police Department detectives have charged and taken Michael Patrick Toone into custody.
Toone was arrested on October 11th evening and charged with cyberstalking after an inquiry.
With a $5,000 secured bond (or $500 to a bondsman), Toone was placed under arrest at the Buncombe County Detention Facility. The district court judge for Buncombe County increased Toone's bond to $10,000 secured following a bond hearing. More charges could be coming; the investigation is still underway.
