Rutherford Man Faces Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

Rutherford County -- May 22, 2023: On Friday, May 19, 2023, Rutherford County Sheriff's Deputy conducted traffic stop after it was found that the driver's license was revoked.

The driver, Joshua Ronald Vanbuskirk, 31, of Rutherfordton, was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl over the course of the investigation. Joshua Vanbuskirk was consequently detained and accused of the following:

POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO SELL/DELIVER SCHEDULE II
FELONY POSSESSION SCHEDULE I
MAINTAINING A VEHICLE FOR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED
Vanbuskirk was given a $25,000 secured bond.
