Armed Felon Arrested by APD on Shooting and Drug Charges
Asheville -- December 19, 2022: Asheville Police arrested an armed subject in Friday afternoon's shooting
No one was hurt and no property damage was reported as a result of the occurrence.
Patrol officers were called to the 120 block of Bartlett Street on December 16, 2022, after reports of gunfire. A shell casing was found near where police had arrived, but no one was in custody.
According to the results of the inquiry, the shooter was Jonathan Elliot Woolfolk.
Officers swiftly located him in the Murray Hill Park neighborhood. He ran away on foot as police tried to catch up with him. Woolfolk pulled out a revolver and put it under a car as he tried to elude cops. After that, he was swiftly apprehended by the police. Because of the drugs that were found on Woolfolk's person during the arrest, he is being held on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm by Felon
-Discharge of a Firearm in the City
-Possession of Cocaine
-Trafficking Methamphetamines

-Taurus .380 Pistol
-1.1 grams of Crack Cocaine
-52.9 grams of Methamphetamine
The magistrate issued Woolfolk a $80,000 secured bond (or $8,000 to a bondsman) and he was subsequently booked into the Buncombe County Jail.
