North Wilkesboro Man Faces Breaking and Entering Charges
Buncombe County -- June 13, 2022: On June 2nd, detectives in the Leicester Community performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless driving. Mr. Collins was booked into the Buncombe Jurisdiction Detention Facility on four outstanding warrants from another county.
During the traffic check, a member of the public informed the detectives that the passengers of the vehicle may have been involved in a break-in. The vehicle was confiscated by detectives, who then executed a search warrant on it. According to the search warrant, detectives discovered $3,186 in stolen merchandise in the vehicle from two other break-ins in the region, allowing them to pursue the allegations indicated above.

Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Detectives have charged Christopher Garland Collins of North Wilkesboro with the following:
- Two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Felony B&E and Larceny
- Two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering
- Two counts of Felony Larceny
- Larceny of a Firearm
- Possession of Firearm by a Felon
- Possession of Burglary Tools
- Damage to Personal Property
- Reckless Driving
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility and is not eligible for bond.
