Ashevillee -- Press Release: Asheville Police Department 

At 7 p.m. on November 11, an Asheville Police Department (APD) officer was patrolling on Smokey Park Highway near the Lowe's store when he witnessed a sedan fail to stop at a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop, and the driver and two passengers immediately fled from the vehicle once it came to a stop. The officer was able to take the driver, ?????? ??????? ?????, ??., 50, of Asheville, into custody without incident.

A subsequent investigation led to the discovery of 7.6 grams of suspected Fentanyl in the possession of Banks. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a large amount of power tools that had just been stolen from the Lowe's store on Smokey Park Highway.
As a result, Banks was charged with the following offenses and is currently being held at the Buncombe County Detention Center.
Trafficking in an Opiate
Felony larceny
Felony possession of stolen goods
Resisting arrest
Careless and reckless driving
