French Broad River Dog Park re-opens!

Calling all dogs and their owners! The French Broad River Dog Park just received repairs and improvements including 5 tractor and trailer loads of new mulch and 100 tons of screenings. Crews in Asset Management with Asheville Parks & Recreation worked diligently to prep, repair and complete improvements to the dog park.

The French Broad River Dog Park, 508 Riverview Drive, features a fenced-in area made for exercising and socializing your dog. The 1-acre park has separate spaces where big dogs and little dogs can come out to enjoy some exercise and play time in designated areas for dogs by size. The dog park is an amazing amenity with wood chips, fresh water and dog waste bags. Hours are 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., or in winter, dawn until dusk.

While you are there, take a stroll through the French Broad Park trail system that meanders along the French Broad River or enjoy a picnic in open green space and at the many tables provided throughout the park!
