Happy 88th Birthday, Willie! I had the honor of going to a concert awhile back held at the Cherokee Casino Resort.

It was amazing!

Willie wrote his first song at age 7.

Willie played music for money during the Great Depression, he didn't want to pick cotten.

He lived in Nashville in 1980, came home,  his house was on fire. In an interiew with People he said “By the time I got there, it was burning real good,”  “But I had this pound of Colombian grass inside. I wasn't being brave running in there to get my dope—I was trying to keep the firemen from finding it and turning me over to the police.”
