Henderson County -- The Henderson County Department of Public Health is offering free QPR—Suicide Prevention Training on Friday, May 30, at 9 a.m., and you’re invited. QPR stands for: Question. Persuade. Refer.

Three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. You’ll learn how to:

Recognize the warning signs of suicide
Ask someone if they’re thinking about suicide
Offer hope and connect them to help

This training is open to the community: parents, teachers, coworkers and neighbors. You don’t need to be a mental health professional to make a difference.
