As the WNC Nature Center officially reopens to the public, this video recounts, in their own words, how Nature Center staff experienced the response and challenges in the immediate aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene. The resiliency of the staff is matched only by the spirit and resiliency of the Western North Carolina community.

The reopening of our Nature Center is not only a milestone in our recovery, it’s a milestone of hope. The people of Asheville, along with caring neighbors around the region, state, and country have come together, hand in hand, to rebuild. Together, we will build back better and thrive.
