The 4th Annual BooneDocs Film Fest will present a series of short form documentary films that share and celebrate life in Appalachia. This program will include the full slate of documentaries, filmmaker Q&A, and on-stage award presentations for "Judges' Choice", "Student Filmmaker" and "People's Choice" at the conclusion. More details will be posted in early January.

NEW for 2025, we are thrilled to add a very special local filmmakers spotlight program presented by the High Country Humanities Council at
7 PM following the Boone Docs Film Festival. This presentation is free and open to the public. Stay tuned for film details for this event.

On Friday, February 21 at 7 PM, Boone Docs 2025 kicks off with a free film screening of Jon Beder’s multi-award-winning documentary How to Sue The Klan. The story of how five Black women from Chattanooga used legal ingenuity to take on the Ku Klux Klan in a historic 1982 civil case, fighting to hold them accountable for their crimes and bring justice to their community. Their victory set a legal precedent that continues to inspire the ongoing fight against organized hate.

Following the film screening, a moderated panel discussion with the filmmaker will take place.
