WomanUP Workshop: Clash of the Generations Thursday, August 1, 2024 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM EST A-B Tech - Mission Conference Center 16 Fernihurst Dr. Asheville, NC 28801 It's gotten way harder to lead employees in the workplace. More Boomers are sticking around than expected; we still haven't figured out how to cope with Millennials (even though they are the largest generation in the workforce); AND to make things even more challenging, say hello to Gen Z! With employees spanning three and four and generations in the office, the stage is set for disaster for anyone still lagging in their ability to engage in the new workplace reality. Every generation in the workplace has value and each has their own strengths, their own weaknesses and their own unique talents. Each is indispensable, and when they come together as a synergistic force, they can be unstoppable! This highly engaging and interactive session will detail proven strategies that you can implement now to engage with people of all ages in the workplace even as they exhibit wildly different ideas about work ethic, work-life balance, and long-term career goals. After this session, you’ll understand how to embrace the wisdom of age while also valuing the contributions of youth. About our speaker: Val Grubb is a keynote speaker, corporate development leader and executive coach who helps companies improve their bottom line by elevating employees from tactical thinkers to strategic leaders. Her expertise is based on 20+ years in senior leadership roles at companies such as Rolls Royce Aircraft and NBC Universal as well as helping to found the Oxygen channel for Oprah Winfrey and InterActiveCorp for Barry Diller (parent company to Expedia, Home Shopping Network and Ticketmaster, just to name a few). Val’s book, Clash of the Generations: Managing the New Workplace Reality, helps leaders manage multiple generations in the office.
