Next Wednesday, July 31, see firsthand how Grandfather Mountain's keepers care for our furry and feathered inhabitants with an afternoon of fun and educational activities. Town of Franklin Planning Department Today after a request to NCDOT from the Town months ago. NCDOT started installing the new signs on 441 with exit numbers. The Georgia rd exits will be 67 and Highlands Rd exits will be 69. This will be a huge help with 911 dispatchers in locating emergencies and the economic growth of businesses in town. Thank you NCDOT division 14 for adding the exit numbers....

🚧⚠️NCODT has advised the County that an NCDOT Contractor plans to install road closure(s) for a bridge replacement project on Old Ross Rd. The Contractor plans to install closure signage up the morning of August 5th, 2024 with a contract end date of September 19, 2025 (but the project could be completed by as early as Spring of 2025). The same contractor is working on the Ball Park Rd bridge as well. NCDOT Traveler Information System will be updated....

Join Haywood Waterways Association to learn about the Blue Ridge Snorkel Trail by snorkeling the waters to discover the fish and other wildlife that call the Pigeon home. The Hendersonville Police Department has received several phone calls from residents about a phone scam. The scammers are generating these fraudulent calls using the police department's non-emergency number (828-697-3025) to make it more believable. The scammers are using classic tactics like: 🚓 Claiming they work for the police department 🚨 Giving residents various fraudulent stories about their involvement in an alleged crime 💰 Demanding payment in the form of gift cards or Bitcoin purchases No law enforcement agency will ever call and ask for money or payment of any kind, especially when it involves resolving legal issues. If you have any concerns about the validity of a phone call, hang up and call the police department to confirm the allegations, even if the phone number shows up as a police department number....

7th Avenue Construction Update! 🚜 Harper General Contractors has been working diligently to finalize the intersection at MLK Blvd, Grove Street, and 7th Avenue this week, and we're thrilled to announce that it will reopen just in time for July 4th! 🎆 While some landscaping work remains, the new gateway signage is up, and vehicular traffic will have access to Grove Street by the end of today. This means easier access to businesses and parking on the West end of the 7th Avenue Construction Site. The 2024 Booze It & Lose It campaign "Operation Firecracker" kicks off today across North Carolina and runs thru July 7, 2024. During this time, deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office will join law enforcement agencies across the state to make our roads safer by increasing patrols throughout the county to identify and apprehend impaired drivers. The goal of this campaign is to prevent alcohol-related crashes and ensure a safe holiday for everyone.
