Judge Thornburg sentenced Frisby to a term of 60 to 84 months in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
The case stems from the discovery of Jeruan Spencer’s body in a wooded area along McKinney Road in August of 2023. Authorities determined Spencer was shot while in a vehicle on Haywood Road in West Asheville.
Frisby was initially charged with second-degree murder after a warrant was issued on May 5, 2025, and was arrested the next day.
Frisby’s involvement was limited to the destruction of evidence after Spencer was killed.
Javorie Ammon Thompson, the principal participant in the murder, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last month before Judge Thornburg. Thompson was sentenced to serve an active term of 143-184 months in N.C. prisons.
